EPEX ESPANA PHOTO EXHIBITIONS Open Call - Conditions of Participation
Participation in the photo competition of the LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education costs Euro 12,- for participation per division. This competition is open to all who enjoy photography.
In order to participate in the photo contest, registration is required. A maximum of four images per category can be submitted via upload.
Submissions:
Four photographs (in color and/or black and white) per participant can be submitted in digital form for the advertised theme. The data must be uploaded as follows:
Data format: JPEG files in RGB
File size: max. 10 MB per image
Image resolution: 300 ppi
Short page with at least 2400 pixels, long page max. 6000 pixels
The submissions or, in the case of montages, all parts of the image must have been photographed by the participant him/herself. With the upload, the participant confirms to be the copyright holder and owner of the publication permission of the depicted persons and to keep the LIK Association free of claims. Likewise, the participant grants permission to use the work free of charge within the framework of the WMPO Award.

Anyone 18+ can apply - all nationalities and genders are welcome.
Submit 4 or up to 16 images - this entitles you to qualify for the accepted and shortlist and show your photos at our exclusive exhibitions in Spain.

All subjects / themes welcome / No restrictions on experience or education / social background. A jury votes on the exhibited images

Consent Order:
To all the following points the participant declares his consent by uploading the photos:
1. i confirm that i have made the photographs myself and that they represent my intellectual property. I own all rights to the submitted works and agree to the corresponding granting of rights to the LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education and the LIK Academy for Photography and Design GmbH to the extent defined herein. I confirm that the publication of the photographs does not violate any rights of third parties and, in the case of the representation of persons, does not violate any personal rights. In this respect I indemnify and hold harmless the LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education and the LIK Academy for Photography and Design GmbH.
2. I agree to the exhibition of the photographs made by me for the time of the exhibition in the LIK Photo Gallery and within the framework of the LIK Photo Festivals without any claim to remuneration.
3. the photographs will be presented in the exhibition in a large format print or virtually on a screen, depending on their placement. The further economic exploitation of these on elaborated light pictures (zero series) after the exhibition in the LIK Academy of Photography and Design Gallery is entitled to the LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education or the LIK Academy of Photography and Design GmbH and may consist, for example, in the sale of the entire exhibition or parts thereof to third parties, implementation of further exhibitions at other locations, as well as digitally published by third parties (eg by sponsoring partners), sale of the exhibition for charitable purposes and the like, to which I give my express consent.
The LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education is entitled to produce and sell photographs in large format. The LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education has the sole right to decide how many of each format will be offered for sale.
5) I grant the LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education, as the organizer of the Open Call for the Espana Photo Exhibition, the right, unlimited in time, place and content, to use all nominated photos for the promotion of the EPEX International Photoawards and the exhibitions for this competition, as well as all related publications, in particular exhibition photo books, or in all currently known and future ways of use for this competition. This includes the right to reproduce the nominated photos in any way technically possible today and in the future and to make them available to the public, as well as to distribute them in physical form (such as the presentation of the photos on the website of the competition, folders, brochures, posters, flyers, catalogs, social media, etc.).
6. the final selection of the winning motifs will be made by a jury of experts. this is not contestable. The legal process is excluded.
7. "Partners" of the photo contest are all prize sponsors
8. from 1.8. 2022 to 15.10.2022 you are called upon to upload your photos to which the participants own the unrestricted copyrights and rights of use and whose motifs do not contradict the legal provisions of the country of origin, legal provisions of the European Union or the personal rights of depicted persons. Participation is only possible online via the competition websites. Submissions by mail or any other means will not be considered.
9. the organizer of the competition reserves the right to delete picture contributions that deviate grossly from the thematic specifications or offend common decency. There will be no notification of the deletion of the pictures. In addition, the organizer reserves the right to make changes or additions to the content provided by him at any time and without prior notice, even if these have an influence on the conditions of participation in the competition.
10. by participating in the competition, the participant grants the LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education and the partners of the photo competition an irrevocable simple unlimited right of use to use the uploaded photo/s for their own PR work. This includes the possibility of publication, reproduction, illustration and distribution for the purpose of self-promotion and self-representation of the LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education and the LIK Academy for Photography and Design GmbH.
By participating, the participant confirms that he/she is the author of the uploaded photos and thus has unrestricted rights of use to the photos. The participant further confirms that the photos uploaded by him/her are free of third party rights; in particular, that all recognizable persons depicted agree to the aforementioned uses and that third party property rights are not infringed by these uses. Already now, the participant indemnifies the LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education against any claims of third parties. Employees of the LIK Association for the Promotion of Worldwide Photography, Art and Education and the partner organizations as well as other persons involved in the conception and implementation of the photo competition are excluded from participation.
12. in connection with the publication of submitted photos, the full name of the participant (as stated in the upload) will be mentioned as the author if possible. Typing errors cannot be objected to.
(13) The Participant warrants that the contents of the transmitted image files do not violate applicable (Austrian and European) prohibition standards, in particular the provisions on the dissemination of child pornography (§§ 184 et seq. StGB).
14. no fees or remuneration will be paid for the publication of photos under the terms of publication.
By uploading the photos, the participant agrees to the conditions of participation. The legal process is excluded. No claims will arise from errors.
16. by agreeing to the terms and conditions of participation, the participant agrees that he:
- while the photo contest is running, is informed about inspirations from LIK Akademie für Foto und Design GmbH, and is mentioned by name in lists of winners.
- after the photo contest is over, will be informed about the winners in a newsletter from LIK Akademie für Foto und Design GmbH (this newsletter will also contain partner-related information),
- future: inspiration on how to use the training courses of LIK Akademie für Foto und Design GmbH will be received.
